So she chipped up chocolate and baked it into those cookies. So it is to her that we owe our thanks for many chocolate chip desserts. The Toll House Pie is a variation on the cookie. You will make a chocolate chip cookie batter that has more butter than a cookie recipe and pour it into a pie shell.
When you cut into this pie while it is still warm, the chocolate chips are nice and melty.

- Large eggs
- All-purpose flour
- Brown sugar
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips – if you prefer milk chocolate chips, you could use those
- Nuts (walnuts or pecans recommended)
- Unbaked pie shell – you can use either a frozen pie crust or a homemade pie crust
How to Make Toll House Pie
- In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs until foamy.
- Add flour, sugar, and brown sugar. Beat well.

- 1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 1 cup butter melted, and cooled to room temperature
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 9 inch unbaked pie shell
